Accuracy of musical data

Key, tempo and Camelot readings are produced by automated audio analysis, and automated analysis gets things wrong. Two disagreements are common: a tempo reported at half or double the value you would count, and a key reported as the relative major or minor of the true key.

Treat every reading as a strong first guess, not a verified fact. If a number matters to your performance, your recording or your set, check it against your own ear before you rely on it. We accept no liability for decisions made on the basis of data shown on or reached through this site.
